  • On her first introduction to Trager, Chris recognized this work as creating a deep resonance within her. She joined the first Trager training held in Alberta in July 1984. After her practitioner certification in 1986, Chris established private practises in Red Deer, Alberta, Vancouver, BC and now, in the Comox Valley, BC.

    Trager certification requires ongoing professional development. Chris has exceeded the continuing education requirements. She has been taught, challenged and supported by many different Trager instructors including Dr Milton Trager.

    In addition to her Trager practitioner work with individual clients, Chris is specifically trained to work with Trager students and practitioners. With this training as a Tutor, Chris supports the development of the student's quality of work, assesses students for their practitioner status and monitors practitioners for their ongoing continuing education requirements.

    As an adjunct to the skills of working with people, Chris also achieved the Counselling Skills Certificate from the Vancouver Community College.

    Chris has supported her professional organization by serving for 6 years on its Board of Directors.

    In addition, Chris has held the contract as the administrator for Trager Canada and continues to hold the administrative secretary contract for Trager International. This gives Chris an intimate view into the internal function of these organizations. She is impressed by the dedication of the Trager members throughout the world.

    Trager contains a philosophical approach to people and how to create change that has inspired Chris for over 20 years. Respect for the client's inherent body wisdom is core to Trager. The deliberate creation of safety and trust fosters deep relaxation. The movement options that are offered in a Trager session are not given in a prescribed way but in a moment by moment assessment of the client's possibility for movement. Chris appreciates the congruence between how she uses her own body to create the movements and the experience she want to create in her client's body, both are soft, easy and flowing. Chris is inspired when client's learn to integrate these qualities into their lives.
